Avoiding distortion
Boosting too much can push loud parts past the maximum level, which causes harsh distortion (clipping). Start with 150–200%; if the result crackles, try a lower value.
Private, in-browser processing
This tool uses FFmpeg, the open-source engine behind most professional video software, running inside your browser. The first time you use it, the engine (about 30 MB) is downloaded once and then cached, so later conversions start straight away.

Are my files uploaded?
No. Processing happens on your device with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so your video and audio never leave your computer or phone.
Can it make one part louder only?
No. The whole file is adjusted evenly. Trim the part first if you only need a section.
Why does the boosted audio sound distorted?
The original had loud peaks that were pushed past the limit. Use a smaller boost.
