How the comparison works
The checker finds the longest sequence of lines that both texts share, then marks everything else as added or removed. This is the same approach used by developer tools like git diff, so moved and edited lines are shown clearly.

No. The comparison runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for confidential documents.
Can I compare code?
Yes. Code is compared line by line in a monospaced font, and you can choose to ignore whitespace differences such as indentation.
