  • Edit creator and producer

Why PDF metadata matters

The title property is what browsers show in the tab and what Google often uses as the result title for PDFs, so a good title helps your documents get found. Metadata can also reveal the author's name and the software used, which you may not want to share.

Which fields can I edit?

Title, author, subject, keywords, creator (the app that made the original document) and producer (the app that wrote the PDF). Created and modified dates are shown for reference.

Frequently asked questions

Will editing metadata change my document?

No. Only the document properties change. Pages, text and images stay exactly the same.

Why does Google show the wrong title for my PDF?

Google often uses the PDF title property. Set a clear, descriptive title here and re-upload the file to your website.

Does "Clear all" remove everything?

It clears all the standard document properties listed in the form.
